Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

Bubba’s Bed & Biscuit provides a home environment for your dog, where we treat your pet like one of our own. To help you know what to expect while your dog stays with us, check out these frequently asked questions.

What should I bring when I drop off my dog?

Please provide your dog’s collar, wet and/or dry food, harness if they have one, leash, and optionally any medication, special treats, toys, crates, dog beds or comfort items that will help them feel at home.

What can I expect for exercise?

A daily walk either on the 1/2 mile wooded trail on our property and/or around our neighborhood. In addition, if your dog likes to play with other dogs, our black lab Bubba is always up for chasing and wrestling and friendly sparring. We can throw balls in our fenced yard, and have a wide assortment of indoor dog toys to entertain your pup.

How often will my dog be let out?

About every 2-3 hours, or whenever your dog requests a break.

How many dogs will be at Bubba’s Bed & Biscuit?

Our black lab, Bubba, will be here, and as a newly formed business (April 2024) we have never had more than one dog boarding with us at a time. Bainbridge Island allows home-based dog boarding businesses to have up to a maximum of 4 dogs at a time, but right now we think we’ll stick to boarding no more than 2 dogs at a time.

Are there other animals at Bubba’s Bed & Biscuit?

We have two vaccinated indoor-only cats that are accustomed to being around dogs, but keep their distance.

May I check out Bubba’s Bed & Biscuit?

Yes, I insist!  We’d love to meet you and your dog to make sure it’s a good fit, and show you our indoor and outdoor areas. Please schedule a meet and greet.

Where will my dog sleep?

Wherever your dog would like to sleep! Our own dog Bubba sleeps in our bedroom, alternating between the King-sized bed and the floor. Your dog can sleep in our bedroom as well, or in our guest bedroom, or in your dog’s own crate if that’s preferred.

Will you update me on my dog?

Yes! Your dog will have its own online webpage journal where you can check for the latest photos and updates on your dog’s day.

How often will dogs be left alone?

The vast majority of the time, either Anna or Jeff will be home, and your will never be alone no more than a couple hours.

Are you licensed & insured?

Yes! Bubba’s Bed & Biscuit is registered as a LLC through the state of Washington, endorsed by the city of Bainbridge Island, and is insured through State Farm.

What if there is an emergency?

The Animal Emergency & Specialty Center in Poulsbo is open 24 hours a day and is a 20 minute drive from our home. Anna is Pet CPR & First Aid certified (March 2024) through CPR Seattle and Bainbridge Prepares. When boarding with us, you will provide your own vet’s information, as well as information on how you would like us to proceed should an emergency arise.
